How to bring consumers back to the stores?
To compete with traditional Supermarkets, innovative groceries stores like Trader Joe’s and Wegmans in the US, offer a massive selection of private label: not “generic” but fun and quirky items that in many cases are better than the name brands. What can your store offer that bigger ones don’t? Find your way to be unique and adjust accordingly.
When French retailer “Nature et Découvertes” got implanted in its home country, its positioning strategy focused on the creation of a specific in-store atmosphere. All the senses were stimulated: hearing – by birdsongs; smell – by the scent of cedar; sight – by colours and natural materials; taste – by the possibility of drinking herbal tea… Such an atmosphere aimed at reinforcing consumers’ pleasure, by arranging for them to feel certain emotions and enjoy a gratifying experience. How do you create a unique shopping experience in your store?

How to bring consumers back to the stores?
Read about the Boomerang Principle from Jurek Leon. The question you, retailers, should be continually asking yourselves is, “Do you think that customer will come back?”. You process the transaction not the customer; you need to connect with each customer. To do this contact Clarisse for the link to the full article or for more retail tips.

Research helping small businesses to avoid scams by Curtin Business School is examining how often you fall victim to small business scams. Results in 2011 showed that while small businesses are a popular target for scammers, 1 in 8 small businesses surveyed could not actually identify whether or not they’d been scammed. Project co-researcher & member of the Belmont BEC Management Board, Dr Louis Geneste, highlighted that the proportion of scammed small firms is higher than the general Australian population and also reported that research from the US showed 90% of the cost of online scams involving identity theft was borne by business. One of the key aims of the research is to develop educational material for small business owners to help avoid exposure to scams.
