Chandrika Tamang – Founder / Designer of CDK Chandrika, a self-taught sustainable fashion designer and social entrepreneur, empowers home-based women, especially single mothers, through her company CDK. CDK preserves and promotes the art of weaving through circular design and economic value, and is run with a strong belief that “less is more.” The brand is a reflection of herself, with a focus towards a slower, thoughtful way of life. Her business model incorporates zero-waste designs, hand-stitched details, and recycled materials for accessories, creating simple, functional, meaningful clothing and home textiles, with vast social and cultural impact. Pursuing design as a hobby in 2016, in 2017 she won Women Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Ministry of Trade in Bhutan. 2019, she was sponsored for a entrepreneurship course at QUT Australia. 2023 her work was featured in Selvedge Magazine, Vital Voice and many more.
